1. About ChefLane

ChefLane is a platform that enables recipe creators to build branded subscription websites where they can publish and share their original recipes. Subscribers can discover creators, browse free recipes, and subscribe to access premium content. These terms govern your use of the ChefLane platform, whether you use it as a creator, subscriber, or visitor.

2. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account with a valid email address and a secure password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must not share your login credentials with anyone else. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or that appear to be compromised.

3. Subscriptions and Payments

Creators set their own subscription prices for premium content. When you subscribe to a creator, you agree to pay the listed fee on a monthly or annual basis. All payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment provider. ChefLane does not store your payment card details.

ChefLane retains a 15% platform fee from each subscription payment, with the remaining 85% going to the creator. Payment processing fees charged by Stripe are deducted separately and are not included in the platform fee.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time, and you will retain access to premium content until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Creators may initiate refunds through their dashboard. Disputes related to payment processing are subject to Stripe's terms and dispute resolution procedures.

4. Content Ownership

Creators retain full ownership of the recipes and other content they publish on ChefLane. By publishing content on the platform, you grant ChefLane a non-exclusive license to display, distribute, and promote your content as part of the service. You must not publish content that you do not have the right to share. Subscribers may use recipes for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Reproducing, redistributing, or republishing creator content without explicit permission is prohibited.

5. Newsletters & Email

Creators may send newsletters to their subscribers via the platform. By subscribing to a creator, you consent to receiving email communications from them. You can manage your email preferences or unsubscribe from a creator's emails at any time through your account settings or via the unsubscribe link included in each email.

ChefLane may also send you essential account notifications such as password resets, subscription confirmations, and important platform updates. These transactional emails are necessary for the operation of the service and cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

6. Comments & Moderation

Where a creator has enabled comments on their site, you may post comments on recipes and blog posts. Comments must be respectful and relevant. You must not post content that is abusive, discriminatory, spam, or that promotes illegal activity. Creators have full moderation rights over comments on their content, including the ability to approve, reject, pin, or delete comments at their discretion.

ChefLane reserves the right to remove any comment that violates these terms or that is reported and found to be in breach of our guidelines.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ChefLane in a respectful and lawful manner. You must not use the platform to publish or share content that is harmful, misleading, defamatory, or that infringes on the rights of others. You must not attempt to access other users' accounts, interfere with the operation of the platform, or use automated tools to scrape or extract content. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

8. Nutritional Information Disclaimer

Nutritional information displayed alongside recipes is provided for informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as medical or dietary advice. Values are estimates and may vary depending on ingredients used, portion sizes, and preparation methods. If you have food allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary requirements, you should always verify ingredients and consult a qualified healthcare professional.

9. Limitation of Liability

ChefLane is provided on an "as is" basis. We do our best to keep the platform running smoothly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access or that the service will be free from errors. We are not liable for any dietary reactions, allergies, or health issues resulting from recipes published on the platform. Creators are responsible for the accuracy of their content, including ingredient lists and preparation instructions. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the preceding twelve months.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if your account has been inactive for an extended period. If your account is terminated, you will lose access to any active subscriptions. Creators whose accounts are terminated will have their published content removed from the platform.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through the platform. Your continued use of ChefLane after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
